Guest guest
My son has Type 1 diabetes and when he was diagnosed he was in the 400+ range. He manages his insulin and is fine. While I have been sick and on all these different meds (type II) has never got over 190. Hell the doctor wanted to give me insulin injections if I ever wanted to go out to eat and pig out. I'm sorry but I get really tired of these organizations giving us what is acceptable. They don't consider medications, life style, etc. You read one thing and it says sugar isn't the culprit and another says do not touch. Isn't it time they got their act together??? Sorry to vent but if we believed all this stuff they give us we'd be in a cocoon. Sue

Guest guest
Marilyn, The American Diabetes Assocation just changed all their guideline for sugar levels. The info that I have would indicate that you really should speak with your doctor about the blood sugars that are in the 140's esp. if you do not have diabetes. High blood sugars can be very harmful to anyone's health. And it is always best to bring concerns to your doctors attention. My endo dose not want my sugars above 140 after eating or below 70 when fasting. Hope this helps R. Thanks for sending this information about diabetes and pred. and metho. It's interesting to know. I have been checking my blood sugar levels occassionally to make sure they stay in the normal level. There have been a few times where they have been up to 140, but as a rule they stay in the 80's. Is it acceptable to have 140's once in a while, or is this something I need to mention to my doctor. Usually I check it in the morning and it's low.
