Guest guest
We seem to have a bunch of new members, so it's probably a good time to let everyone know that we're planning a Grad list trip/convention to Vegas some time next year. We've set up polls (Vegas won the location), and we're still voting on the month and number of days. Everyone is welcome, pre- and post-op alike. If you're reading this, you're invited. So, if you're interested in joining us in Vegas, please go to the poll and vote! Here's the link... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG/polls We've also set up a separate Yahoo group devoted to the trip, so we don't clog up the Grad list. It's just going to be a fun trip, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free. The list has been pretty quiet lately, but when we get the dates down, I'm sure it'll be a lot more active. If October turns out to be the Month, maybe Columbus Day weekend would work for the majority. in NJ

I don't even know yet, I might end up come alone, too. I sure hope that doesn't stop anyone. Once we know the dates, we can try to work something with sharing rooms, if people want. We already know each others bathroom habits...LOL Also, as a reminder, we set up a separate Yahoo list for Vegas talk, so we should bring this over to that list, but we will be posting a notice here every few days for newbies and anyone else to vote and join the Vegas list, if they're interested. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ossg-grads2vegas/ in NJ
Guest guest
I still am having trouble signing up on the grad list for the trip. Can't seem to find it. Can anyone help with that. I might actually have the money to go this year even if I have to make my own arrangements. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. Current Weight 302 lbs. Right now, we're just taking a vote on which Month and how many days. If you haven't been able to find the poll yet, here's the link, or you can just click on " Polls " on the left side of your screen from the main Grad list on Yahoo. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG/polls Hope you can make it! in NJ
Guest guest
I finally did cast my vote. I just didn't want to miss anything. I haven't taken a true vacation in years and figured it might be time to tak a mini vacation while I can afford it. Not sure if I want to come alone or not. Might have to talk someone into going with me. My other option was to take a cruise. Now wouldn't that be fun, fun, fun in the city. Thanks for letting me know. Guest guest
A cruise..oh yeah baby!! I just researched a few lines. They akmost all have a special health program. Costa has Cooking Light entrees, carnival has Nautilus spa menu, etc. I can't afford to go to a spa so I'm taking a cruise with my Mom. We leave Feb. 9 out of Galveston, 7 nights, ports of calls in Key West, Belize and Cozumel. The line is Royal carribbean. I am paying $348 Including port charges plus $28 in tax and using miles for my flight there. I also researched demographics because I made the big mistake of taking a Holland America cruise before where the average age must have been 84 and all the food tasted like mashed potatoes. Royal Carribbean has an average demographic of single and couples in their early 40's, with most passengers between 30 and 50 seeking an active cruising experience. Also, the Holland America ports were all places where the activities were shopping, museums, etc., whereas the RC cruise stops in warm places with lots of sports available. BTW I am booking through a website called www.moments-notice.com. It is a clearinghouse for cruises and airfares and the rates are astounding. It was recommended by Frommers. My last vacation I booked through an auction site called www.skyauction.com. They sell cruises, air, packages and lodging. Guest guest
Thanks for the info and websites. My chiropractor just went on a cruise. He paid like $400 a person for a 4 or 5 day cruise to Cozumel. I think that included the airfare by Southwest which is pretty inexpensive these days. The price is one of the reasons I was considering it. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. Current Weight 302 lbs.
