Guest guest
I'm new here. I can see my problems are very minor compared to most of you. Everything about my jaws is normal except that my palate is too narrow, so I've been recommended for surgically assisted palate expansion and 18-24 months full braces. I'm just a little worried because I play the French horn and I would hate it if my lips got numb but never got back to normal. Does SARPE usually cause numbness? How long would it last? Anybody else play a wind instrument?
Guest guest
Andy, the msuguy, played the trumpet. He did not have a result that satisfied him, and one of his griefs is that he is no longer able to play the trumpet -- at least if things are still as they were the last time I saw a post from him. I think that's pretty unusual. There is a link that deals with playing brass instruments. I forget whether I put it in Links or Files, but it might offer you either some ideas, or some places to go to ask your question where you'll get better info than I can give you. You might also try a web search of " orthodontics " or " Orthognathic surgery " and musical instruments. And by all means ask your docs. Best, Cammie > I'm new here.
