Guest guest
VERA, I LOVE UR STORIES. I AM SO HAPPY U BOTH GOT TO GO ON A TRIP. IT IS SO NICE OF U TO DO ALL THAT U DO! U MUST BE VERY STRONG TO PUSH UR HUSBAND IN HIS W.CHAIR. DO U WEAR A SUPPORT BRACE OR SOMETHING?? DOESN'T UR BACK HURT? WHAT DID UR DRESS LOOK LIKE. WHAT WAS THE WEDDING LIKE? I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS U WITH MY COMPRESSION HOSE. HONESTLY , I GAVE UP ON SLIPS. I CAN'T WALK WITH MY WALKER AND ADJUST MY SKIRT AT THE SAME TIME AND TOO HARD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM, SO I CARRY A CAN OF STATIC CLING IN MY WALKER BUGGY OR BACK PACK ! HAIR SPRAY ON UR NYLONS WORKS WELL TOO. WHEELCHAIRS - THE SLIP BUNCHES UP AND PANTS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH WAIST HIGH COMPRESSION HOSE. STRAPLESS LONG EVENING GOWNS ARE DEADLY WITH WALKERS WITH WHEELS! I BOUGHT A RED GLITTERY LONG EVENING GOWNS THAT ALL MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE TO DO IS PULL IT UP, LONG ENOUGH TO HIDE MY REEBOK HIGH TOPS ( YES IN RED). IT HAS TO BE SOMETHING EASY FOR MY HUSBAND TO HELP ME WITH OTHERWISE HE GETS FRUSTRATED. IF IT IS A SHORT DRESS, THEN I WEAR MY UGLY ROCKPORTS OR RED GLITTERY TIE SHOES. MANY CALL THEM THE 'WIZARD OF OZ' SHOES. AS FOR PACKING, I HAD TO RESORT TO A BASIC BLACK (OF COURSE LOLOLOL) BACKPACK READY FOR SURPRISE EVENTS. UNDERWEAR, DRESS, SHOES, T-SHIRT SLEEP, MEDS, PADS, TOOTHBRUSH, BRUSH, 20 BUCKS, UNO CARS .3 CANS OF ENSURE AND 2 GATORADES, ENEMA BAG/SUPPOSITORIES. ENOUGH FOR SURVIVAL. DRESS AND SHOES HUNG UNTIL NEEDED. THEN IT IS ROLLED IT AND PUT IN THE BACK PACK. THE BACK PACK STAYS IN THE CORNER WHICH IS SOMETHING I HAD TO GET USE TO. I NEVER DREAMED OF THIS AS MY MID LIFE CRISIS. THE DRIVING? WOW! I LEARNED TO DO THINGS DURING THE WEEKDAYS. IN GENERAL PEOPLE SHOULD BE HAPPY THEY HAVE A SPOUSE OR SOMEONE TO DRIVE THEM LIKE I SEE ON THIS SITE. I TAKE THE SENIOR VAN OR MAKE SURE IT IS DURING THE AIDES WORKING HOURS. WE HAVE RESORTED TO VALET PARKING. SAME RATE AS REG GARAGE PARKING NOT THE VALET RATE BECAUSE MY HANDICAPPED VAN DOESN'T FIT IN THE PARKING GARAGES. ALSO, MANY TIMES I SEE THE STRESS ON THE CAREGIVER'S FACES AND ACTIONS AFTER PARKING AND WORRYING ABOUT ME AT THE SAME TIME. OTHER TIMES MY HUSBAND PUSHES ME INTO THE PLACE AND JUST SAYS OR ASKS THE DOORMAN OR DESK - '(CAN U) PLEASE WATCH MY WIFE. I HAVE TO PARK THE CAR.' HOPEFULLY, MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE GOING TO PARIS IN THE FALL IF THERE IS A DIRECT FLIGHT. A HOTEL WITH A PRIVATE BATHROOM, EXERCISE ROOM, AND POSSIBLY A POOL, WITH SOME LANDMARKS CAN BE VIEWED NEAR THE HOTEL. ANYONE KNOW OF ANY? A DREAM I ALWAYS HAD WAS TO GO TO PARIS AND I AM SORTOF EXCITED ABOUT GOING. ANY ADVICE SPECIFICALLY FOR PARIS. I CAN NOT TAKE THE TRAIN OR CAB BY MYSELF, SO ARE THERE ANY HOTELS WITHIN ONE OR TWO BLOCKS OF SOME OF THE LANDMARKS? WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN SEPT.?? IF ONLY ONE LANDMARK COULD BE SEEN, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?? THANKS! NANCY FVJAMES@... wrote: > > Belinda: > You wouldn't believe my Vegas trip.
