Guest guest
Hi everyone. I can now officially contribute to this group. I do admit that I have been lurking for many many months, and feel very close to many of you already. My name is Terri Harley am 47 years young and I live in Temecula, CA I had surgery on 12/7/01 with Dr. Ellner. Starting weight was 309 and I am currently 234. I am not where I want to be, but since month 7 the weight loss has only been 1-2 pounds a month. Hey as long as I keep going in the right direction I am happy. If I never lost another pound, I consider myself a success!! I am MUCH healthier, and am able to be active and live my life. Before I did not think that I would last another 10 years. I am diabetic (now controlled with diet and exercise-yeah). I was about to be put on insulin as they could not control it with pills, but since surgery I have been able to keep in good contol. my HA1C is currently 7.1 and under 7.0 is considered normal. I have a husband and 4 furry children and an adorable step daughter (13). Currently I am working 2 jobs (gotta pay those bills off LOL) but am going to try and get to the OSSG-Grad Vegas trip. I would absolutely love to meet everyone. Look forward to contributing. Terri in Temecula
Guest guest
Welcome Terri! Good for you on the weight loss. I'm 47 as well and pretty much mirror your statistics for your timeframe. I too was on the 1-2 pounds a month at your point and am now about 1-2 pounds every 6-8 weeks, BUT HEY -- I'm STILL LOSING!! It's now been 17 months for me and I agree with you whole-heartedly about if you stopped now, what you have gained. But no worries, mate!! Just keep on keepin' on and it will keep coming off - like me, I'm sure, ... slowly but surely! Again, welcome! Guest guest
Welcome Temecula Terri! We are at the same point. Well, I was 234 3/4 last week and now I'm 236, not that I pay attention to the scale LOL!!! (and don't you know I balanced that scale very delicately to squeeze that elusive 1/4 pound out of it!!!) Looking forward to you jumping on the bandwagon, Vicki A. > Hi everyone. > > I can now officially contribute to this group.
