How long did it take for your face to go back to complete or close to

normal? I am so ready and it's only been two weeks! It's just kinda

hard b/c when your at school EVERYBODY sees you lol.

It's ok to be whiny, you've been through a lot.

The swelling will take its time. One thing I found was that if I was

too active, I could feel internal swelling coming on. Talking too

much also did it to me.

People will soon forget about the surgery and how you look today

versus 3-4 weeks or months or years from now, trust me. It's pretty

normal to be obsessed about it, eventually you'll forget about it too

and things will get back to normal.

As usual, offers great advice here. I'd say most of my

visible surgery signs weren't noticeable to anyone but me by the

time I was four weeks post-op. My experience with overdoing things

and feeling the internal swelling intensify parallels 's

experience as well.

Welcome to the other side!

Hi Tori. I asked my surgeon the same question at my appointment on

Monday. I am five weeks post-op and still feel pretty swollen.

Other people say they can't see it, but the surgeon said there's

still a lot (I still think I have a little Planet of the Apes going

on with my swollen nose and upper lip). My surgeon said that in

seven more weeks (the 3 month mark), all but a tiny bit of the

swelling should be gone. I had lunch with friends on Monday who I

had not seen in a week, and they said there was a big difference in

that week. I can't see the changes because they're so gradual, but

it does get better. I don't think anyone who didn't know me before

the surgery would know that there was anything strange about my face

at this point. I'd say you'll look about normal to yourself at 3

months, but to other people a little earlier than that. --Amy
