Guest guest
, thanks for all the useful information on allergies and RP.... I'm very fortunate, I haven't had a flare this year...(Knock on wood). But there has always been a connection with May. Please be sure to let us know what you find out... I would say congratulations on your 34th anniversary, but don't know if that's bad or good. LOL You are a survivor and that gives us all hope... Sorry that you have had this sooooo long. Glad that you are part of the group.... You are an inspiration to us all. Have a wonderful weekend. Guest guest
Hi, mine was always in the fall. September or so. I laughed at my doctor yesterday because he asked if I had allergy problems and I said " why not I've got everything else. " He looked in my nose and said " no you don't have an allergy nose. " It seems I have a sinus nose. Well see come September. This year I get my flu shot!!! I didn't last year and have been sick ever since. I did year before and was fine...Take Care...Sue
Guest guest
I reported earlier about my ENT agreeing with me that my annual April flare-ups may be allergy related. I saw the allergist yesterday. She had heard of polychondritis but didn't know much about it. She agrees that this most likely triggers the April problems [other incidents during the year are stress or being overtired related]. She explained how histamines and immune things work -- which, of course, I didn't remember two minutes later! I said that I have had slight allergies to flowers, trees, etc. but never explored it since it was a minor problem. I told her that when I am out on a breezy day my ears are worse the next day. I will go in in a few weeks for skin testing and then she will make recommendations. We have the hope of lessening the symptoms between April and September and then next spring see if we can cut it off before the pollen starts flying. So & Ann and and others who have a regular seasonal upsurge consider the allergy factor as a possibility. I'll let you know the results of the next exam. And, oh yes, this week is the 34th [!!!] anniversary of the start of my polychondritis. G
Guest guest
- I take claritin daily for some of my allergy related stuff, which I find very effective. When I am on prednisone that takes care of the rest. Congratulations on still going strong!!!
