I was never told that I could never give blood again. I was a regular

blood donor until a number of months ago when the anemia struck. Been up

and down since then, mostly down, currently at 9.8. (docs think I may

have another bleed from the fall I took, don't even go there).

Talk with your doctor again about this. If your blood counts are good,

you shouldn't have any untoward effects.

I have had two knee replacements and had to donate blood both times for

myself. Only once did I require the transfusion, but was glad that it

was my own blood.
