I was never told this by my docs. In fact, this is the first time I've ever

heard of it. Why would it be a problem?

Right after 9/11 I asked the surgeon who did my original WLS if it was okay

to donate blood and he said that it was fine. After donating, my iron

levels dropped like a rock and I was very close to needing an iron infusion.

I've spent the past year working on getting the levels up again and with the

help of /Vitalady my iron is now in the normal range.

Bottom-normal, but still much better than it was and still climbing.

I also know lots of people who have donated with no problem at all so I

guess it's just a matter of luck whether or not you're one of the people who

are going to drop like that.
