I think you got my point across better than I did. And I 100% agree with you on seeking drs. opinions before starting, stopping, increasing or decreasing any medication... I'm sorry if I wasn't clear in my post. I'm just worried that some are waiting too long and figure it will just go away or is just a sore throat etc. I want to urge members to seek medical attention and who cares if they think we are a pain.....!!! Better safe than sorry and besides, we Pay them to work for us... Thanks again for making my point more clear. hugs C

Guest guest
, I think your posting to the members to see their doctors is a wonderful idea. Anytime you have a new development, pain in certain areas that last more then a couple of days. You should call your doctors. Chest pain, shortness of breath, swallowing problems, sudden hoarseness, sudden headaches, sudden changes in vision warrant a phone call at the onset of the problem and possibly a trip to the ER since these can be associated with early warning signs of heart problems, stroke, respitory stress. I do however strongly suggest that members let the doctors determine whether the pred. dosage be increased or not. Many times it can mask the symptoms giving a false test results or complicate the problems. Often a round of antibiotics, NSAID's, pain medications, bronchial dilatators or increased/decreased autoimmunspressants and a better course of action then upping pred.. Now I do understand that some of use (you and I included) have standing orders from are doctors to do so under certain circumstances. But the newly diagnosed should really be seeking their doctors opinions on medications. Absolutely 100% agree that the flare needs to be stopped. ANN the sooner the better. Great post. Thank you for it. R.
