I heard they're now saying that it actually should be upside down. Ha! They

could have saved all of our taxpayer dollars on these studies if they had

only asked us first!

I read in the paper today the FDA is going to revamp the food pyramid by 2005.

They decided that it was too much carbs, gee imagine that. And the new one is

to incorporate exercise. They said that there were more obese people since the

pyramid was formes.

I say go back to the four square.

Okay, now I feel real stupid here. I don't remember the four squares. I

guess I am to indoctrinated in the food pyramid that doesn't seem to work

well. Could you explain the four squares.

Lori, How old are you anyway???? LOL. The four squares is what I was taught

in elementary school. Meat/protein, Grains, Fruit/Veggies, and Dairy. If

you had something from each of the 4 food groups you were balanced. No

emphasis on one food group over another.

Believe it or not, I am 42. I vaguely remember that school of thought

but it has been sooooo long ago. I wish I was old enough to claim

senility or young enough to claim ignorance but I am probably just having

a dumb brunette day.
