Guest guest
That is strange - sent a message 10 mins ago and it hasn't showed up. I will repeat it for you Sharon. Had 2 instances of nasal RP 10-12 yrs ago, they presented as localised tender/swollen nose and I told my Dr it was nose infection, got treated with anti-biotics and it went after a week or so. Couldn't wear glasses tho. Same thing happened a year or so later, again went to Dr and got an-bio (who knew that it was RP!). Not as bad as ear flare-ups but a pain nonetheless. Re Bells Palsy - I've not had that but 2-3 attacks of neuralgia over the years, which is quite painful - aspirin took care of it, always put it down to stress. Hope you are OK Barb

No, I am not having a nasal flare, my ears seem to do enough of that for my whole body! I am just trying to pin down some of the symptoms that I was having before I got on medication. Wondering if it were related or not. Hope your day is going great! Sharon ===== __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Barb, Lucy here in NC. I too have had Bell 's Palsy, 1992, it was less than 30 days from a car accident. I had a bump on my forehead and the paralyses was on the same side as the bump on my forehead. Did you have a hole in your nose after your nose flares? I had found a hole in my nose and had already made an appointment with the ENT clinic here and was to see them 2 days from the day I had to go to my GP for the first ear flare and subsequently to the ENT the same day to be diagnosed with RP, you know that long frightening disease called " Relapsing Polychondritis " ! I visited the ENT clinic several times, mostly for early signs of flares and sinus infections. The PA who I would see every time, found a new hole in my nose not too long ago. I do not go to see them now if I don't have to, when I needed an insurance paper signed, they all of a sudden " are not treating me for RP, that is not their area " , funny thing, they are the ones who diagnosed me and who has increased my Prednisone and Dapsone. The Rheumy at Duke only agreed that the meds were what I needed to be taking or that I needed to get off of the Prednisone. Who are we to trust anymore? Well, as you can see, I have gotten wound up. I will close for now. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Also, let me know if you find out anything else about the relationship that RP and Bell's Palsy might have to do with each other. Love and Prayers, Lucy Re: Questions - Sharon > > --- barvey@... wrote: > > Hi Sharon, > > > > Just some info, I had 2 nose flareups maybe 10-12 > > yrs ago, of course > > thought they were nose infections.
