Guest guest
You're welcome Jan. It also has a cathartic effect for me. Regards --- janburg88 bosendorfer88@...> wrote: > How beautiful. Guest guest
Thanks . I too like poetry. You did an excellent job. I agree with so much of what you said. I am not sure about the " control " part, personally perceiving that perhaps I've tried to take too much control, and realizing - in reality - just how little control I do have... But, as you eluded to... what better place to rest, than in our God? After all, how many of us - sick - or healthy - really have all that much control over such things. In fact, I was discussing this stuff with a friend recently... She lost her son a number of years ago. He got Leukemia, and survived only briefly - 6 months? She expressed to me how thankful she was that she got that time with him. After all, her son could have been taken by a rapid illness, or a drunk driver. She got an extended period to grow close to him, and to learn how to release him. We too - no matter what our health, have been given one more day, if we've been permitted to read these posts. The question is... what have we done with that day? I realize most (if not all) will not read this until the morning. So... Have a great one. > > > Folks, > > > > > > I like to write poetry and I have penned the > > following > > > to help me deal with how I am feeling. > > > > > > Like a silent thief in the night, > > > He arrived unannounced, > > > While I wasn't looking, > > > He suddenly pounced. > > > > > > Bit by bit, > > > He slowly steals my quality of life away, > > > One less thing I can do, > > > Have to take it day by day. > > > > > > Why not me, I tell myself, > > > Better than someone I love, > > > Making fine friends I would never have known, > > > Maybe it's a blessing from above. > > > > > > Telling me to slow myself down, > > > Get back in touch with my spiritual side, > > > Live more in the moment, > > > Learn to take things in my stride. > > > > > > I've still got two arms and legs, > > > My mind and my will, > > > I choose how I deal with this, > > > I'm in control still. > > > > > > Maybe it will beat me, > > > But I won't go without a fight, > > > There's simply too much to live for, > > > I'm not ready to turn out the light. > > > > > > I gain a lot of strength, > > > From the guts and resolve of you friends, > > > Even when one of us goes, > > > The fight never ends. > > > > > > Regards Sowter > > > > > > > > > http://www.sold.com.au - SOLD.com.au > > > - Find yourself a bargain! > > > > > > If you do not wish to belong to shydrager, you may > > unsubscribe by sending a blank email to > > > > shydrager-unsubscribe@y... > > > > > > > > > >
