Get a good senior citizen lawyer too. One with Medicaid and Medicare

experience and knowledge..

Hi there: You need to find an Elder Care Advocate. They are very

knowledgeable & can guide you thru every phase of everything you might

be eligible for. I think each state has different rules & standards.

They do charge, of course, for their services. Hope this helps.

Regards, jerrie

Thanks Jerry, I will speak with my parents about hiring an Elder Care

Advocate, maybe they can help us decide the best financial path to

take that won't deplete my parent's savings as fast.

I appreciate all the advice everyone has given. This is a great

forum, very informative.

,

Before hiring someone, check with your local Area Agency on aging, or Social

Services Dept. or even Public health. They should be able to help you find

programs which can help you. Hiring someone costs money and should not be

necessary. If the agencies seem reluctant call your local House of

Representatives office and tell them you are having a problem, most good ones

have a person who handles that sort of thing.

Take care, Bill Werre
