Guest guest
If a person has been paying into social security and Medicare for at least 10 years, they are eligible for Medicare coverage after 24 months of collecting Social Security Disability Income, regardless of age. The waiting period is very difficult for people without a working spouse who can provide coverage on their policy, although the previous employer generally provides COBRA coverage (which can also be expensive).
