Guest guest
Dear Sharon, you are so lucky to have doctors who want to know more. They probably learned this stuff the 2nd year of med school but never thought they'd need it. You take care....Love, Sue
Guest guest
Sharon, SO glad that your doctor is interested. I think I've got my PCP ready to really get involved now.... Doesn't it really make you feel good when you know you've made a step forward... Great job. Once we do get the RP brochures made for the foundation we will be in even a better position to educate all the doctors and the public. Glad you had such a great visit.. hugs
Guest guest
I am feeling so blessed today. Just came from a visit with my primary care physician and he was so great. Last time I was in I asked him if he knew anything about RP and he said no, but was willing to educate himself. Today I took him a full file folder of materials that I have been collecting. He was so appreciative. I could tell by his questions and exam that he had already started the process of learning about RP. I already have the world's greatest rheumatologist (my opinion), so I am doubly blessed! I hear the horror stories about physicians, and have lived through some of my own, so I know how important this is. Thanks for letting me ramble! Hope all is well with you! You have no idea how happy having these two caring doctors makes me. I've only been seeing the PCP for less than two years and couldn't stand him at first. Almost fired his butt!! The doctor I had before him was a total jerk. She never believed a word I said, so I know that my current doc's are really a blessing. Have a wonderful day today. That will be great. Yes, the visit with my PCP yesterday gave me lots of hope. Number one, he knows that I need the rheumy more than I need him and he is o.k. with that. A doctor who does not think he's God---that is a blessing! He was just so nice, caring, concerned, and interested that I was blown away. Hope your PCP comes through for you too! Being in an HMO, you have to have a good PCP to get the referrals that we need. Take care and have a great day. My PCP admitted that he has never had another patient with RP and that he knew nothing about it. But, I am impressed with his willingness to learn. He and my rheumy stay in close contact so life is good on the doctor front. Guest guest
This is what I hate: two doctors have done it to me. They say when they are in med school everything they studied they got. Dah...what does that tell you? So I bring my records or I try to fax them before the appointment. They don't even look at them and say that I'm a hypochrondriac. The nature of the beast...Sue
