Vicki, I want to thank you for suggesting this buddy jump-start thing.

Although I'm not officially doing it, I find myself very interested and

involved in it, and this is making me more aware of what I'm eating all day.

This is a good thing! We may need to do this again after the Holidays. :))

I thought about you all who said you started eating funny right off

the bat yesterday when I reviewed my journal this morning. Not 30

minutes after waking up and giving myself a big pep talk was I off to

the races:

7 a.m. make kids' lunches. We have these new dinosaur graham

crackers we're trying. Oh look! Mr. Dinosaur is broken in

half...can't give that to the kids, I might as well eat it. After

ingesting him and his brother, THEN I look at the calorie count. 70

calories each??!! This isn't a graham cracker, it's a big cookie!

1 c. coffee

2 graham crackers

Raisin bran w/ skim milk

9:45 1 c. coffee

small apple

10 a.m. 45 min walk with dogs

30 minutes recumbent bike

30 minutes weight training

approx 8 oz. water

12:30 white rice (1/2 c.)

3/4 c. chard

1/2 c. non-fat plain yogurt

2:40 pick up kids from school. Zoe didn't finish her lunch, so I

helped her

1 sm. piece pizza pretzel

1 1/2 inch piece fruit roll-up

4:00 piece of candy pinched from store again

1 slice whole grain bread eaten in car

5:30 2/3 container non-fat cottage cheese (240 cal)

2 c. green beans

2 quarts chamomile mango tea

10:30 1 c. green beans- just got back from class. No space in

fridge for beans so better eat them or they won't be any good

tomorrow.

A much better day than yesterday. I estimate 1400-1500 calories.

More protein and water, less candy.

Still about 400 CALORIES in junk food/uncooncious eating.... That's

about 1 pound every week, or 4 pounds a month I could have lost.

It's becoming obvious how the little things are sabatoging my weight

loss. At 2 years 2 months out, I'm lucky to lose 1-2 pounds a week.

If I'm eating an extra pound's worth of calories every week, even on

a good day (God forbid we look at the days like Monday!!) no wonder

I'm staying even or only losing a couple pounds each month!!!

OK, one more day for me of journaling. I'll think of my plan for the

next week and post it tomorrow.

BTW, my weight was down a poun yesterday, probably because I was up

all night after Monday's coffee frenzy. It's back up 3/4 again

today. I'll use Wed. morn as my start weight for the week.
