Guest guest
Today was the day I went to find out about having plastics. I must tell yall, yesterday and all today, I was soooo nervous. The appointment wasn't until 4pm. Dang, what a long day! Well, I was there 15 minutes for the appointment. I was approved in that time. WOOHOO!!! This is how it works in Denmark. I went to my doctor for a referal. Then, I had to go back to him, to make sure I met their criteria. Next step was today. This was going to main hospital in our county. This is where there plastic surgeons are. Their waiting time is 12-18 months. Because of a law that was passed last year, they cannot make you wait more than 3 months, if it is proven medically nessary. That date starts from today. Tomorrow morning I will call for my referal to a private hospital. Since the surgery is paid for, they will do all the research for me to find the best doctor. (I will research myself as well!) Within a week, I should have an appointment to see a surgeon. If they cannot find a good plastic surgeon that can operate before March, they have to find one in Europe within the same time frame. All expenses to be paid. I am sure that one will be found close by. There are a couple of very good ones close by. I discussed having the stomac worked on. This is my major concern. I will be seeking having the boobs done as well. The doctor that I spoke with today said after this work is done, I might consider coming back about the arms and thighs. That is not guaranted but, I may seek it out. I am just so happy about this! I was so afraid of getting a no. I have even been doing the high protein this past week to push my weight down just a little to have a better chance. By the way, it works. I lost 8 lbs and have been the same for years. I was so afraid that I would have trouble convincing them I needed this. The doctor took one long look and needed no explanation from me. So, before March, I will have my tummy worked on. Thanks for listening everyone, Dawn

I'm looking at this way, I put my time in being here in the artic region (close enough, I'm a Florida girl). I consider it a gift from the country..lol. I've been here 3 years, married to a Dane (great guy in my opinion...lol), had to get my approval to stay every year..waiting 4-6 months to get my passport back (Would not let me hold on to it, even though as American's, we aren't supposed to hand them over.), had to go to language school-required to live here, and am now waiting on my permenent residency permit (means I can go back and forth with no visa stamps within Europe and USA). I really didn't know if they would approve it. I had to have a small cyst removed last year over my eye. My doc sent me to a local plastis surgeon. He didn't want to take a chance of leaving an ugly scar. I did ask that plastic surgeon about having my tummy done then. He gave me a list of a couple of surgeons and told me that normally one had to self pay " cosmetic " surgery. We called about getting a private surgeon. They gave me 5 to chose from. The one I picked is 1-2 hrs away but seems to have the most to offer. Now the entire country nearly, takes the holiday vacation off so I will get my 1st appointment the first week of January. We called their office and was told that after my appointment, I can be scheduled to have surgery 1-2 weeks later. Kewl Beans!! After all is done, I will post before and after pics. Guest guest
, Yes, I am very excited about this! It's been 9 and a half yrs since WLS. I keep standing in front of the mirror pulling and stretching my skin out of the way. You know, I actually don't look bad under all that skin...lol. We live in Southern Jutland, in Horsens. It's about an hour driving from the German border. Where were you? So you were here about 1980. Funny, I was in Japan in High School at that time.
