Guest guest
I received this email from Dr. Lee today. I responded and asked for a copy of his publication as he offered. I'll keep you updated. Jerry Cash Status of your IGF-1 Project Dr. Lee, I had corresponded with you by email in February of last year regarding your research project on IGF-1 and cerebellar neuron survival. My interest in your work is prompted by the fact that my brother was diagnosed at about that time with Shydrager Syndrome or Multiple System Atrophy. The topic of IGF-1 was raised recently on our Shydrager Support Group internet site, and I just wondered if I might trouble you for information about the status of your project? Thank you, Jerry Cash jerry@...
Guest guest
This was an article on Dr. Lee's work posted on the National Ataxia Foundation website: http://www.ataxia.org/generations/2000fall/research/lee.htm Jill in the UK... did we ever determine if IGF-1 is the growth hormone being studied in the UK? You'd mentioned your husband might be a candidate for a growth hormone study. There are many types of growth hormone so this might be something else. Let us know if you have more details. Take care, Pam
Guest guest
Pam and Jerry, This is VERY interesting work as it shows a DIRECT link between successful Juvenile Diabetes work and work on cerebellar ataxia. Both involve the insulin growth protein (IGF-1) and both have only had success with embryonic stem cells. Note too that this work will not only be banned in the USA, but the scientists could be thrown in jail inder the Brownback Bill before the Senate right now. Now that is a novel approach to medical care in the USA, throw the scientist in jail for trying to find a cure for MSA under the pretense of " saving babies " . At the same time invade Iraq killing many thousands of people (including babies). Guess I will never understand politics ) Take care, Bill Werre ------------------------------------ > > > Date: 2002/07/10 Wed PM 01:52:30 CDT > To: shydrager > > Subject: RE: FW: Status of Dr. Wie-Hua Lee's IGF-1 Project > > > This was an article on Dr. Lee's work posted on the National Ataxia > Foundation website: > > http://www.ataxia.org/generations/2000fall/research/lee.htm > > Jill in the UK... did we ever determine if IGF-1 is the growth hormone being > studied in the UK?
