Guest guest
Hi , I received my surgical support tapes yesterday and perused the instructions and I would like to ask you a question. With regards to the " intra op " tape (and at the risk of sounding stupid), is it played repeatedly during the entire length of the surgery? Also, what do you suggest how to make sure the " intra op " tape is changed to the " recovery tape " when I get into recovery? On the lighter side . . . when I got to the end of the instructions, I had to chuckle when I read the warning about NOT listening to these tapes while driving. Take care and hope all is well. Guest guest
Posted on site 2, repeated here for benefit of others considering these tapes. =========== Hi Dale, Coincidence - I received my order yesterday as well! Yes, the intra-op tape is played repeatedly while you are in surgery. Same with all the other tapes. That's why you need the auto feature on the cassette player (side 1 is same as side 2). I changed the pre-op tape to the intra-op tape as soon as I was asked to go down to the holding tank for surgery, and took the recovery room tape with me. As far as getting the recovery tape put in when you get into recovery, since you'll be unable to do it yourself, you'll have to give clear instructions to the OR nurses when you get into surgery (you'll still be awake at that point, make sure you bring it up before they start your IV, etc as you'll be put to sleep quickly). You can also take the card insert with you, but I'd make a copy of it so it doesn't go missing. I remember waking up in recovery, my first words were " Hot! Hot! " (I was sweating like crazy) and " Change tape! Change tape! " - I could hear the nurses coming over, they noticed I was sweating and I also heard one say " what's she talking about? What tape? " and the other said " Oh, I changed the tape already " . So I went back to sleep until someone called my name out VERY LOUDLY, and I got the boot back to my room : ) That's a standard warning on all their products, the tapes can produce profound states of relaxation, and some people (me) fall asleep promptly when listening to them. Now you KNOW you're obligated to tell me how they work out for you. > Hi , > I received my surgical support tapes yesterday and perused the > instructions and I would like to ask you a question.
