Guest guest
Hi all- Just to let you know Pete has an appointmewnt with Dr. Weiss at Harkness Eye Institute on July 10th..hopefully he can help him..It would be nice because if he needs surgery(I think his problem is cataracts) it's close to home and is " doable " form me and the family. Thanks again Lillian for the info. Otherwise Pete is hanging tough as always..he has so much courage, it must be a side effect of RP to be courageous as you all are!!!!!!!!!! Love and prayers Janet

Guest guest
Dear Janet, with the new catararac (sp) surgery its really not too complicated. My Mom had both eyes done at the same time. Her vision was impaired for about 12 hours. They gave her valium and other drugs to help with the pain. She slept for most of the 12 hours. She was very happy with the outcome. Look at what their doing now with laser surgery. My daughter just had her eyes (near sightness) done yesterday. She's doing great. My Mom's was about 10 years ago and she was always happy she had it done. Love, Sue
Guest guest
Janet, My mother in law just had both of her eyes done... She did wonderful, except for the fact that she can see the dirt. LOL Always thought the lamp shade was an off white.. just realized it was white. LOL She had no problems at all and her site is even better than before. hugs
Guest guest
Hi all- Wanted to let you know Pete had retinal laser repair on Friday and will have his first cataract surgery this Thursday. He is kinda nervous but of course anxious to see again. He is now taking avandia and starlix for his diabetes...he was running 300-400 and now runs about 200-240 so we are still working on getting it down more. His doc wants to try all the oral meds before resorting to insulin. Pete will do whatever is necessary. I have been very busy and overwhelmed between Pete and my sister(she has been having chemo and radiation since November and is very sick but still fighting). I am in awe of the courage of Pete, my sister and all of you...We are so happy about the Foundation being up and running and so grateful to all who have worked so hard to make it a reality..God Bless you all. You are all in my daily prayers. Will let you know how the surgery goes Thursday.. Love and hugs Janet

I abuse my body alot....my sugars have never been over 200. You can get it at Sams or Walmart or I assume any place. Worth a try...Sue M
