Guest guest
Amy, Thanks a lot. Here is the list as I found using internet locators: 1. Homewood Suites - 2747 North Stemmons Freeway Dallas, Texas, US, 75207 1- 2. Candlewood Suites - 7930 N. Stemmons Freeway - Dallas 972- 669-9606 Here come very desirable weekly cheapies: 3. Studio 6 - 2395 Stemmons Trail Dallas TX Tel: 214- 904-400 4. Extended Stay America - 2544 US Highway 67 (closer!) Mesquite, TX 75150 Tel: Or 12270 Greeville Avenue Dallas, TX 75243 Tel: (972) 238 - 1725 5. Sun Suites: 10477 Metric Dr Dallas, TX 75243 tel: 214- 221-6601 I used MapQuest to get driving directions. Any additonal advises will be greatly appreciated, as my surgery date is very close - time to make rush decisions! Guest guest
Hi Val. I looked these up on Mapquest to see where they were. None of them are very close to Baylor, but I guess that doesn't really matter as much as whether they are close to restaurants and grocery stores. The first two (on Stemmons) are actually close to Southwestern Medical School. There are lots of fast food (I'm thinking milkshakes) restaurants and a few grocery stores nearby. They are also pretty close to Love Field airport if you are flying Southwest and easily accessible from DFW Airport. The two on Stemmons Trail and Hwy 67 are kind of isolated and I don't know much about the neighborhoods that they are in. I have an errand to run this afternoon that is fairly close to the ones on Greenville and Metric, so I'll drive by them and see how they look. I'll get back to you after I do that. On the Zip n Squeeze question, it probably depends on whether you will be wired. I was not wired or banded and used maybe five of the big bags and four of the small (i.e. liquid v. pureed food) bags. I actually had a hard time with the bags because I felt like I got too much at one time and felt like I was choking. The smaller bags with the small tubing are great for rinsing your mouth out those first few weeks. I've got some of the bigger bags left over if anyone wants them. I switched to a spoon and small cups as quickly as possible because of the choking thing. --Amy > > > > > > > > > Val, just curious if Dr. Wolford is performing your > > > surgery > > > > > at > > > > > > > > > Baylor? Guest guest
By the way, if you go to www.dcad.org, you can pull up pictures and maps of all of these places. Just select " search appraisals, " then " street address, " and input the addresses without avenue, freeway, etc (i.e. just the street name). Once it gives you the list, select the address. On the appraisal page, select " view photo " and it will pull up a picture of the hotel/motel. > > > > > > > > > Val, just curious if Dr. Wolford is performing your > > > surgery > > > > > at > > > > > > > > > Baylor? Guest guest
Amy, just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you! That is so kind of you to do " drive bys " on these places. It sure will take one major stressor off just knowing that I won't be staying in a bad place! (I am sure Val agrees!) Thank goodness for this group. Just when I start to wonder if I am crazy for having this major surgery done, miles away from home, paying lots of $$, I find someone else who can relate and is in the same boat...fighting the same battles. So, thanks again....I am hoping the Sun Suites on Metric Drive are decent because that seems to be the most affordable... > > > > > > > > > > Val, just curious if Dr. Wolford is performing your > > > > surgery > > > > > > at > > > > > > > > > > Baylor?
