Guest guest
I am 3 weeks post-op from a Le Fort 1 (Upper jaw Only). It was a 3 piece to correct an overbite and gummy smile. So the doctors went up and back. Anyway, every morning when I wake up, the swelling is at its worst in my upper lip and around my nose. I wake up in the middle of the night unable to fall back asleep! It goes down during the day, and then flares up when I sleep. Has anyone had this? Anything I can do? It is very bothersome! I start work next week, and if I don;t get some sleep, I will not be able to perform! Help!
Guest guest
If you aren't already sleeping with your head elevated, try that. Some folks use a recliner, some use pillows. It may give you some relief. Also, try a vaporizer/humidifyer... cammie > I am 3 weeks post-op from a Le Fort 1 (Upper jaw Only). It was a 3 > piece to correct an overbite and gummy smile. Guest guest
I had a modified le-fort (They just made one cut so that they can expand my upper jaw), septoplasty, and rhinoplasty 12 days ago and have the same problem. I find that Advil really helped this, but above all, a nice cold ice pack as soon as I awoke was the key. Its getting better every day but I know what you mean. I have to have a lower advancement done in 18 months once my teeth are all lined up, and anticipate a LOT less pain and discomfort thing... except for the whole not being able to chew thing! Am I wrong in anticipating this? ny > > I am 3 weeks post-op from a Le Fort 1 (Upper jaw Only). It was a 3 > > piece to correct an overbite and gummy smile. Guest guest
From all I've read and heard, you have put the hardest part behind you! From my (surgically reshaped) mouth to God's ears!! Congratulations... Hang on... And you'll probably be able to slurp, so who needs chewing????
