Closing of teeth

Hello,

I am 33 years old and have been wearing braces for 16 months. Part of

my treatment plan is to have a surgery in a couple months to advance

my lower jaw to have the perfect bite. I had 4 bicuspids removed

before have braces placed on. So far The upper teeth gaps have closed

no problem. But the lower ones are not closing as well. Actually one

side is moving and will probably close but the other is not closing

at all. When this particular tooth was pulled the surgeon had to cut

a small part of the bone to remove the tooth and said at the time

there may be problem closing that gap. Well the time has come and he

was right. So, now my problem is what to do about this gap. Well my

Ortho said that he spoke to the surgeon and he said they can close

the space surgically during my lower jaw surgery. I have to admit I

was very reluctant to go through with any of this to begin with. And

now this complication is upon me and I am very discouraged. I can

tell my otho was stumped as to what to do with the gap. My question

is has anyone ever heard of this happening or had a similar

situation. I Will meet with my Surgeon on July 2nd to discuss this. I

am just concerned about this. I did not sign up for additional

surgeries. And I am flipping the bill for all of this, Should I have

to pay for any additional for unforeseen circumstances?

Thanks

Dan
