Guest guest
Veterans Administration solution for Jan's swallowing, bowel, reflux, digestive problems was a gtube and low residue Osmolite formula pumped at 80 Ml per hour. Not perfect but has kept him (and me) going for almost two years. Food bags must be washed every 3 hours and 16 Oz water+ meds given allowed a 10 minute absorption time while I roll him and set things up again. This repeats 24/7 with NO REST for the caregiver - wicked? ME. Procedure fails to solve chronic bowel problems but Jan is paralyzed except for his beautiful, love expressing eyes and pain, needs advising howls. Surgery was not an option. Nutrition was needed. Justa `nuther problem solving possibility. My choice as wife/guardian and though demented, probably his. LA Louise hoping that My Guy will be one of the fortunate 21% who peacefully sleep..should he wish to leave.
