Pam,

We've had two typhoons in one week. The first was much worst than expected.

The second went south of us and wasn't a problem except that it held up the

recovery for three days. Most of the island is without power and water.

That condition will be fixed in a couple of weeks. I have moved Peg to the

Hilton Hotel because they have power and water. Guam Community College has

gotten power back so I'm reading e-mail there. However I can't access the

Shy Drager List directly from work. Please send a message to the list that

if any one needs to contact me, for the time being they should send an

e-mail to jtaylor@....

Chuuk State which is east of us got it much worse. The first typhoon (then

a tropical storm) dumped very heavy rains and 40 some people were killed in

landslides.
