Guest guest
Hi all, Sorry to inform you, but the SDS/MSA Conference in Denver scheduled for July 26-28, 2002 has been called off. Evidently only three people signed up for the conference. Can any of you who thought about going and did not choose to go please tell me the reasons? I would like to pass that info back to the SDS/MSA Board so we have data on scheduling another Conference. I will pass all info I get on to the Group without names if you want. Also is anyone planning on going to the one in Chicago in September? If we can get info on the Chicago conference would more people go? What kind of info do you want? We had about 50 at the Boston Conference, why did all of you go to that one? Dates? Location? Take care, Bill Werre
Guest guest
I know of one person who says they didn't hear about it in time. I think they may have joined the list recently though and just heard about it a couple weeks ago. I just checked the archives to see when this conference was first announced. May 29th - Bill Werre wrote that Don Summers had told him there would be a conference in Denver on July 26th to 28th and for us to mark our calendars. June 11th - Pam Bower wrote with details that Don Summers had sent about the hotel where the conference would be located. June 12th - Pam Bower posted the MSA News for June which included the Denver conference announcement as the leading item. This was sent to all present and former list members (1400 email addresses). It was also sent to all Parkinson, NDRF and Ataxia support group leaders and posted to several internet forums. During the last week of June and the first week of July there were several more reminders. I guess the Official Announcement wasn't made until June 11th when Don wrote with details of the conference hotel location. This went out to a wider distribution on July 12th with the MSA News for June. According to my calendar that is just 6 weeks notice or 8 weeks if we count from May 29th when Bill first mentioned it. Do people feel this was sufficient or not? Take care, Pam
Guest guest
Pam: Thanks for you help with the Denver Meeting, I have been trying to e-mail you at your address but it has been returned each time. Still trying to contact Meg Steinhauser but again her address seems to be a problem and the message returned each time. Any suggestions?
