Hello, my aunt who had a blood pressure problem, which wasn't even that high,

quit all types of salt. To the point of none. After several months she ended

up in the hopsital with low potassium. She thought she was dieing. She could

hardly move, looked awful. So it was really strange. Sue

and Chuck , What are your potassium levels? If they are low this will

cause the leg pain that your are having. If you do not have enough potassium in

your blood system then calcium can not be absorbed. ALSO they have just released

a bunch of info on how the potassium channel is inhibited in autoimmune

diseases. This is new proven research. So it will be interesting to see how it

relates to us.

R.

Chuck, I also have sleep problems. (don't get any) LOL Even my c pap machine

isn't helping. I am having the terrible leg pain and calf pain & joint pain

now. I am trying to decrease my pred. Carmela says she still has it after

coming off pred. Does anyone know how long this lasts? Yes Chuck, sure

does beat the RP, so i won't complain. How are you doing otherwise? Hope

you have a great day.

, Just had mine checked last week and it is fine. All of my blood tests

are fine.

Geez.....Sometimes just wish they were a slight bit off so the problem could

be identified and fixed. LOL Not wishing for anything else wrong, just

fixable.

Thanks for the info though.

Hi everyone,

I am really learning from the group so much. I didn't realize that the

blotches I am getting could be from the rp or Pred. I get what they

call in my home " death pinches " . These big, dark, purple blotches on

my legs and arms, they are about 3 inches round, and they hurt so bad

when I bang them. You know murphys law, that is the area I hit by

accident!! Ouch!!!

I also get bad leg cramps, even with no mediation, and found, purely

by accident at Walgreens tablets called CALCET, which are made for leg

cramps. I take two before going to bed and I don't get the restless

legs or leg cramps. It really works for me, and you don't get the

sleepy side effect. Hope this helps someone.
