This is the Rose that is a speech therapist. I haven't been very active on

the list for awhile now, but I've tried to keep up as best I could.

I want to let you all know that my dearest dad passed away on July 3. My

mother and I were both with him at home (Hospice had been helping for about

2 months) when he passed. Thankfully, it really did seem to be a peaceful

passing, and I'm so glad I was there. Logically, I'm glad for dad that he

no longer has to be a prisoner inside the body that was not him. He could

still walk some up until about 2 weeks before his death, and he could

communicate with us until the last day. His decline in the 2 months Hospice

was involved was rapid. He'd probably had MSA (if that's actually was it

was) for about 15 years.

Emotionally, I hate the thought of not being able to talk to him, hear his

stories and jokes, and that my 16 month old twin girls will never have the

pleasure of knowing their Grandpa .

I want to thank each of you for being a part of this list. Even if you

never write, you're still contributing by learning and helping someone who

has MSA. I've learned SO much from so many of you, and I especially

appreciate those of you who contribute so much time and continue to

participate even after you're loved one has passed away.

I will continue to try to scan the list for speech related issues; those of

you who keep my address can pass on questions directly to me if it might be

helpful.

I will send on the obituary when my mom can e-mail it to me, and I'll

hopefully be sending Charmayne something for her memorial page.

Thank you all for your support. No one else can fully understand what

effect MSA can have on the entire family and friends.

Sincerely,

Rose
