Given that the Denver MSA conference had to be cancelled yesterday

due to lack of registrations, I wanted to try to let people know as

many details as I currently know about the upcoming Chicago MSA

conference.

Dr. Janice Gilden will be the hostess and she tells me they have yet

to choose the final date but it looks like either the weekend of

September 14th or the weekend of September 21st. Other speakers

attending will be Dr. Tom Chelimsky and Dr. on, both are

MSA/Shy-Drager and autonomic dysfunction experts. If you are

interested at all in attending can you please email me back and I'll

make sure you are notified as soon as the date is firmed up.

The format for these conferences is always the same. Various doctors

who are experts on MSA/Shy-Drager speak on relevant topics related to

symptom management and current research, then the doctors all sit on

a panel and respond to questions from the floor. There is also a

break-out session with patients in one room and caregivers in

another, each group is led in discussions by a facilitator. The

meeting starts with a reception on Friday night. The main meeting

with speakers takes place on Saturday morning starting around 9 or 10

AM and breakout sessions are on Saturday afternoon. Another wrap up

session is held on Sunday morning at 9AM and the meeting adjourns at

noon on Sunday. Continental breakfast is provided both mornings, a

buffet lunch is provided on Saturday and dinners are on your own.

Historically there has been no charge for attending these

conferences. Attendance is usually between 30 and 50 people.

Again, please email me back at pbower@... if you are

interested in attending. I will make sure you get the final details

for the conference as soon as it comes to me.

Thanks,

Pam
