Guest guest
Hi all. Well, after starting the day with yet another brain MRI and endiing it with 8 bags of IV fluids and a gastroscopy, finally found out why I've been so miserable the past few weeks. Have an ulcer at the anastomis site and the doc took biopsies for Helicobacter pylori infection and then decided to do a breath test for it and it came out positive. So now I'm on antibiotics to eradicate the infection and ulcer. Have to have another gastroscopy in six weeks to assure ulcer healing, but so glad this chapter may now be closed. I've lost 15 pounds in the last two weeks and though thrilled with the weight loss, not thrilled with how it came about. Heading off to bed now. My brother took the kids for an overnighter and I'm all alone. Tim will be home from his business trip on Sunday. It's been a long ten days without him around. And before anyone asks why he hasn't come home, it's because I didn't tell him how miserable I was. Thought he could use ten days concentrating on work and not me for a change. When he couldn't get hold of me tonight, he called my brother and my brother told him I was admitted to the hospital late last night with severe dehydration and such. Was discharged around 7 pm this evening and now just relaxing. Will have most of tomorrow to just rest as my brother is going to keep the kids and put up his x-mas tree with my kids and my niece. 11 days and counting until that ball drops. : ) Night everyone. I'm curious, though, as to why the dehydration? Can it be as simple as not enough fluids, or is it a side effect of the infection? Guest guest
So glad that you found an answer for your tummy probnlems, and one that can be treated. But what about the hearing...are you still holding off on the steriods? > Hi all.
