Braces for how long before surgery?

Hello all,

I was wondering how long you guys had braces before your surgery. I

have had my uppers on for 5 months and I just got my lowers on three

days ago. I've told my ortho that I really need to get the surgery

done before the end of the year because my insurance will be changing

for the worse and that I won't be able to use the surgeon I have

picked out. So, I'm just looking for an average of how long most

people have braces before their surgery. I know it's not good to ruch

things, but I also know that sometimes orthos take more time than

they really need to make things more comfortable, etc.
