Guest guest
Sandy, I too am allergic to morphine, though I haven't taken fentanyl yet, so I don't know if I can handle that or not. I take methadone for my long lasting and I take oxycodone for my short term. They work great for me. However, there is no guarantee that they will work bettter than the ultram for you as medicine affects people differently. All you can do is try it and see if it helps. Also, there are some other long lasting meds like Oxycontin and other short term meds like: darvocet, percocet, vicodin, ettc. Just some other things to try. As for the pancreatectomy and still having pain, I couldn't tell you since I haven't had the surgery. You might want to talk to those who've had the surgery and those who've researched having it, as they will be more likely to know what Dr. Sutherland (and the other dr.s who've performed it) have said.
