dreading people's reactions

I guess for me the most annoying thing people say is " wow, you look great.

Now, how much more till you get to your goal? " . I weighed 278 pounds, and I

am 5'4 " . I'm now about 170, in a size 12 or 14. I probably set my original

goal at more like 140, and a size 8 or so. There's not a high probability

that's going to happen. I just hate the double edged compliments. I look

better, but they still want me to know that I'm not as good as I could be.

Grrrrrr.

That " keep up the good work reply " used to hurt my feelings greatly.

I had no idea how much more weight I would or could lose and was just

so happy to be an average person. I don't know how far post op you

are, but as an FYI, I never gave up, never believed in " the window "

and lost weight until I was down to a BMI of 22 and that was at 40

months post op. Remember people have this CRAZY idea that WLS is the

magic bullit and that we magically lose down to Barbie size without

any real work or internal changes . . .You know, we took the easy

(all the way) out! We know better don't we???
