Guest guest
I'm just wondering? Around the same time every night Fred will start to moan, but when I ask him what is wrong , he will say he doesn't know. This happen's everynight around 7:30pm. I don't know what to make of it and don't know what to do about it. I wonder if anyone else does this? Take Care Vera
Guest guest
Vera, I friend of mine has two dogs which every night at 9.30 pm starts to bark. Could it be because they got every night at that time a biscuit? (Just pulling your leg and twist it three times.) Hugs, Timo ----- Original Message ----- From: FVJAMES@... I'm just wondering? Guest guest
Vera, use to do that (when he could still make any noise at all....it was about toward the end of his use of his vocal cords. I never noticed it being at a specific time but was usually evening at least. I would ask if he was hurting and he would say No....we concluded that it was an involuntary movement of the vocal cords, perhaps similiar to tremors......and my thoughts were that perhaps it is brought on (like some tremors) by being overly tired. has to work very hard at swallowing and perhaps there was a connection. Now he still has to work very hard at swallowing but is unable to make any verbal sounds. Just my experience .....use it for what it might be worth :-) > I'm just wondering? Guest guest
Vera: I think it is part of the Sundown Syndrome that goes with Neurological illnesses. ken always started to mutter very softly. He usually stopped when I told him he was doing it, and we couldn't understand him. It sounds as if life is getting more complicated for you and Fred, and I am really sorry to hear it. Is there any way you can get some regular time off just for you? I don't mean time you spend watching your grandchild although I know that is a good distraction for you (been there, done that). It is really hard to be all the time with someone you love as much as you love Fred and to have to watch what is happening to him. You are a very special friend, and I do know hoe hard all this is. Guest guest
Annette: Thank you for telling me about doing this same thing and was glad to see that it does have a name. Just another thing in this awful illness. It makes you wonder what is next. TakeCare Vera
