Christmas cookie question

HI family, I will introduce myself more after the holidays. I had my surgery

one year ago on Dec 12 and have lost 101 lbs. The reason for this email is a

baking question.

If a recipe calls for 1 cup of sugar can I substitute 1 cup of Splenda ? The

only sugar I have available to me is what you find in the grocery store.

Hi ,

I have used cup for cup in both cookies and in Banana Bread of Splenda and

got really good results. Chocolate chip, oatmeal and sugar cookies (the type

you cut with a cookie cutter and then decorate.)

I've also used Splenda to cook my cherries for a Cherrie pie and got good

results with that too. I mix Splenda with Cinnamon to sprinkle on top with

good results on my other pies. I plan to cook my apples in Splenda this year

for the apple pie.

By good results I mean those who eat it don't know and I don't tell.

~smile~ The texture and quality is good and I measure ounce for ounce, spoon

for spoon or cup for cup.

Those are the things I've used it for so far.

Hi & welcome!

Yes, you can absolutely use Splenda in place of sugar. But, I find Splenda

to be sweeter than sugar, but that's just my taste. Anyone else?
