Guest guest
Hi all Saw OS for 6 week check up today. He's pleased with my bite and I was glad to come away with answers to my list of questions I presented - so I thought I would share them. 1. Sinus and mucus production - this is still bugging me, particularly left side. He said just to sit it out - it will go eventually. 2. Wonky nose - deviated septum - he can do a septoplasty but can wait until I get back from Australie. I said I could not face any more surgery for the moment. 3. Upper Wisdom teeth which should have come out at time of surgery. He didn't do it as it may have compromised blood supply so left them in. He can take them out at same time as nose job. 4. I can start to chew!!!! - Went straight to Tesco and bought a chocolate caramel cream eclair. Nectar - but still found chewing hard - teeth don't seem to meet top to bottom - but at least I tried and satisfied a craving. 5. Opening width - not too good. Why can't I open wider he said. I don't know - that's just where it stops said I. Anyway he's give me the tongue despressor exercise to do - one depressor added twice a day, increasing by one more every couple of days. I will do this religiously. 6. He thinks my recovery is taking longer than usual. I said at 44 I'm not surprised. 7. I can fill hard bumps on my jaw line which I though might have been where the cuts were made but they seemed to be in the wrong position. He said it is swelling which should slim down eventually. 8. Bite is in perfect position which calmed me somewhat as I was terribly worried I may have compromised it by not wearing elastics all the time (they are just too sore as loss of a couple of brackets means they have to stretch further to hook on another tooth) So, the watchword seems to be 'patience' which I will try to be! Thanks for listening Best wishes Sue (UK)
