Tell her point blank you think it may be caused by the excess weight of the

pannus (she'll make a note of it in her records). Ask her to prescribe

physical therapy to assist with strenghtening the muscles to try and relieve

the pain. Between repeat visits to the doctor complaining, physical therapy,

and drug therapy, you've covered your bases with your efforts to treat it

short of surgery. All of this will be important if you are required to

appeal a denial for abdominoplasty coverage.

Kate, I wanted to tell you that for years I had on again off again lower

back pain. I tried to convince any doc that would listen to me that it was

because of the weight, then the skin/apron hanging. Honestly I didn't

really believe it myself, but I knew that it was a good excuse or reason to

help get a tt paid...........well, would you believe that I have never had

one minute of pain since my tt 5 months ago (OK except for those few days

of walking all huntched over).........I'd tell the doc about it.......AND

tell him/her that you know of several people that it worked for

too.......... P.
