Guest guest
Hi Lynne, Sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. I think most of us can relate. You are at the worst part right now, the swelling and pain were at the max for me at day 4 and 5. Make sure you get in plenty of fluids and take your pain meds as often as your doc said you could. Don't wait until the pain is back. If it is still bad, call your doc--I had to, and he had me alternate tylenol/codiene and ibuprofen--it helped. You might try a nice warm bath. And make sure you are sleeping with your head elevated, that will help with the swelling. Feel free to " vent " or " whine " to us, no problem. You will feel better soon. a > hi everyone, I'm the 22 yr old ewho hd upper/lowe/genio may 24th. i > though i had prepared myself for what it would be like but I am > suprised at just how uncomfortable I am and how awful I look. Guest guest
you're gonna be fine!!! i felt the same way a few days after my surgery. its hard to really prepare yourself... even when you know what to expect. i relied on heat therapy for my sore facial muscles. it was a big help. it also enhances healing b/c heat promotes blood flow. remember too, that general anesthesia can cause temporary depression. i was crying at the drop of a hat a few days after surgery. but that went away too. take care, heather > hi everyone, I'm the 22 yr old ewho hd upper/lowe/genio may 24th. i > though i had prepared myself for what it would be like but I am > suprised at just how uncomfortable I am and how awful I look. Guest guest
Hi lynne- " This too shall pass! " I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and went back to work today. I remember feeling sad too for the first few days, but before you know it...time will pass and you will be feeling much better. I have about 4 more weeks left of this liquid diet business...but I know in a few months this will all be just a memory. You'll feel much better in a few days. Keep in touch.
