Peg and I have been out of touch because of two typhoons within a week. The

first was July 5, the day after Independence Day. It was bad, much worse

than projected with top winds of at least 120 mph and spread over a much

wider area. It was probably the third worse hit since we've come to Guam.

The second was scheduled for July 5. It wasn't bad but it did delay the

recovery effort by 3 days. To protect Peg from the heat we had to stay at

the local Hilton as they still had their own water supply and backup

electrical generators. We finally got our power back Friday, thirteen days

after the first typhoon. About 25% of the island still doesn't have their

power restored. We are back in our house now so that is good for Peg. Our

regular personal e-mail address of jtaylor@... is working again.

I will probably have to delete all the Digests from the last two weeks. If

there was anything in the last two weeks intended for us, please resend it

directly to us.

A quick review of the digests shows that several have lost loved ones during

that time. Peg and I are sorry to hear of this and will keep the families in

our prayers.

Our best to everyone else. Meanwhile there is another super typhoon out in

the Pacific coming in this direction. Fortunately it has formed in an area

and is moving in a way that indicates it will probably not affect Guam

directly. If it comes to the nas it may be more of a threat to Saipan.

However we all know about weather. Anything can happen.
