Scheduled 5/24 7:30... any last words of advise??

Take a deep breathe, think positive and remember the next few days are only a few in the rest of your lifetime!

Good luck and best wishes

Words of advise: keep your powder dry, and don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes. Or: don't let the bastards get you down.

But seriously -- walk when they tell you to, and breath deeply when they tell you to. Good Luck! Nan E (pre-op and waiting....)

I'm down 100 pounds since my surgery 6 months ago. It's the best thing

I ever did for myself.

Good luck and happy recovery!

Hey everybody, I am so happy. Here I am at 5 weeks almost 6 looking

back like it was ages ago. I was cleared to chew soft foods when

they took out my splint at four weeks, and cleared to get back to my

sports and eat anything I wanted at five weeks. They also took off

my hooks at five weeks and put the normal elastics and all back on

nice and tight :S. I am so happy, my teeth look sooo much

different, my surgeon and ortho are both incredibly pleased, so it

is all going good for me. I remember that first week was so hard

and it was hell for me, but it is all worth it now. My stitches are

still hanging in there sadly, and some of my swelling is still

present, but not noticibal(sp) to anyone but me and ppl who know

what they are talking about. Idk like everybody was calling me

monkey for the first 3 and a half weeks and I am not trying to be

braggy but I was fortunate enough to not have been made fun of much

when I was younger and not really previous to the surgery, so it

really hit me hard. But then i realized that they don't think I

look good because they don't know all the changes my jaw has gone

through etc. So I decided to leave it up to those that know what

they're talking about to tell me how I look. So to all those that

can't see the light yet and don't think they can make it through the

no chew diet, trust me it's worth and you can do it. I didn't think

I was going to be able to handle it, but trust me I did and you can

too!!

Good luck to those who have June surgery dates!! It is SO WORTH IT!!

Thank you Tori, I am at four weeks and I can't stand this anymore. I was nice to

see there is a light at the end of this wonderful journey.
