Well, my current insurance expires 4 weeks after the surgery.

I have a choice of two identical new policies with the only

difference one has preexisting conditions clause and one does not.

Which does not have is 5 times more expensive. Question:

How much did you need your insurance 4 weeks after extensive

(upper/lower) surgery for the surgery related purposes?

Thanks,

Val

Ask your surgeon (or the insurance person in the office) how much of

your post-op care is covered in the quotation he gave you. All of

mine was, and I haven't paid a cent since. But I kept on seeing him

for about six months afterward, and had some issues with the cheeks

and scar tissue, for which he was helpful.

No insurance required for surgery, Val, since I'm in Ontario, but I

did have to pay my surgeon about CAD 1,200 for out-of-hospital

visits to his office. I presume that covered the pre and post-op

xrays (he has a machine in his office), and followup visits. He

didn't ever do much other than look in my mouth and say " looks

great " . Once he trimmed my sutures as they were getting pretty long.
