Guest guest
My surgeon also just started me on solids except bread and steak. I have no problems with soft foods, such as cottage cheese, potato, soup, etc. But when I eat baked fish, tuna, baked chicken, it takes forever like 4-5 hours for it to empty out of my pouch. When I try and drink anytime before that, I get really bad chest pain. I talked to the bariatric nurse at the hospital today and she told me to take it easy, my body just wasn't ready for the solid stuff yet and stay with the soft food. But it will come and I will be able to move on to solid. She said everyone is different. I am getting tired of soft food and wanted something more tastee, but I know this won't last forever so for now, I will continue on the soft diet a while longer. By the way, I am 3 weeks post-op. I guess we just have to be patient and listen to our body. When did you have your surgery?
