Guest guest
I'm checking into this site for the first time in about a year, and just happened to see your posts. We had our surgery about a week apart, if I recall -- it was in 2001 (I only remember because I had a really crummy job, then, and the surgery brought temporary relief). Seems like you were doing yoga moves out by the nurses' station post-op, is that right? Funny thing -- I, too, have a bit of residual numbness. About half of my lower lip. I always assumed it was because I ignored the little infection that set in post-op, but I suppose it's possible it wasn't my fault. Alas, we do adapt. I am more aware of it than I would like to be, but I have no regrets about having the surgery. And my perfectionist dentist is pleased with the work of both my ortho and surgeon. Meanwhile, I'm STILL finding those tiny rubber bands everywhere. I'm glad you are doing well!! Take care, Kris P.S. Hi Cammie!
Guest guest
Hi, Kris! If you'd like, I can augment your supply of ortho elastics, as my breeding stable is still producing. Plus, I seem to remember that someone sent me a few for use after surgery! Sounds as though you're doing well. Congratulations. I think sometimes stuff just happens, and I'm sorry to hear that you're not 1,000 percent back to where you wanna be. But if it's good enough for you and your dentists, it's good enough for me! Take care. Cammie > I'm checking into this site for the first time in about a year, and > just happened to see your posts. Guest guest
Hi Kris, So good to hear from you and know that you no longer are plagued by a crummy job and that your surgery was a grand success. The numbness is a queer snake of a funny color. My entire lower lip is pretty numb, fat, tingly all the time. My chin is as well but less noticeable because it isn't as active flapping about all the time like my lips. My gums and teeth have altered sensation, feel fuzzy......(ough to get used to fuzzy teeth.) Now that we have determined that I have been living with it for 3 years .....I am prepared to go about forevermore with the numbness and be cool with it. 95% of the time I give it no more than a passing thought.....that other 5% it drives me absolutely bonkers. In the cold weather it aches and when kissing mainly. Kissing has never been as much fun as before surgery.....like clapping with one hand. I still wipe my chin after every bite or drink....my chin is sooooo bloody shiny you could comb your hair in it. Yoga is groovy, despite the fact that the nurses didn't appreciate it.....I have now added hard core pilates to my regiment. Great fun! Kisses to you, Cyn CYN!!
