Guest guest
My doctor started me on a new antidepressant called Remeron. Over the years I have tried " most " of them, however, this is a new drug and it targets both the secretion and epinephrine. Plus it works within the first 5 days of taking it, rather than 4 weeks. The drawback is weight gain. In fact, they use it for people who are anorexic. He told me that most people evened out after 10 pounds. I saw a significant improvement from this anti-depressant, and thought I could handle the weight gain, but now that the gain has gone past 10 pounds, I am having a hard time with it. I am going to ask him to add welbutrin to it, as apparently this is suppose to help curb the appetite. I find myself between a rock and a hard place, as I was suffering depression/agoraphobia quite bad, with no relief from any of the older anti-depressants. This remeron has worked wonders, EXCEPT for the weight gain. Now I have to determine the case of the two evils!!! Sheesh, that makes me depressed
Guest guest
Maybe Remeron is new in Canada, but I've been on it for many years, myself. I take 45 mgs at night. It really helps me with my sleep problems. Guess we are all different...thank heavens it hasn't caused me any weight problems. I also take 60 mg of Celexa...but am thinking I'm about at the end of the road on that medication...I'm maxxed out on it...and am not feeling up to par. I used to take 400 mgs of Trazadone along with the Remeron at night....but after surgery, I started turning into a zombie...so was able to get off that med completely, I'm happy to say. I also take Topomax, which I am trying to wean myself off of too. Also Klonopin. Ah, the wonders of chemicals....ugh! Regards~ Jacque > My doctor started me on a new antidepressant called Remeron.
