Guest guest
There is a diabetic verson of ensure that does pretty well.I think that it is call Glucerna. There is hardly any sugar in it w/ lots of minerals and vitamins. Good Luck, and prior to WLS my last two months I would lose 15 pounds in one visit to gain it back the next. I thought my OB was going to have a heart attack. She finally told me that it was water retention.

Guest guest
Hi , Glad to hear all is going well for you so far. I am going to be grandma 1st time in June so I am also excited. Just keep eating as you should and things should be fine. Since you are so close to delivery time, has your obgyn discussed what methods of birth control you could use. I hear since the wls many of us patients absorb everything, including the pill, which is probably how my daughter got preg. Was wondering if he suggested what is most effective method of birth control for us. Thanks weight loss I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and for the past 3 visits to my ob i have been losing 2-3 pounds per visit. Has anyone else experianced this? My ob is concerned but I have told her I have been eating like a horse. I eat every 2 hours and I don't always eat the best but I have not been skimping by far. I start going every week now. She told me to start drinking ensure but I know alot of people have gotten sick off of that and I am not into getting sick at all. thanks M. Guest guest
Hi, Losing weight is common, it also has to do with metabolic changes from going through a major surgery. I am the freak who gained. My diet going into surgery was mainly a vegetarian uncooked fair......it quickly switched to milkshakes, creamy everything, and blended enchilladas. I gained and haven't quit yet.......having developed a taste for rich and fattening goodness and now a passionate reverence for feeling by teeth actually sink into food rather than my previous method of cutting everything into little pieces and eating it with a fork. So dainty....so boring! Eat as much as you can and try not to worry about wasting away. Stick with high calorie delicious squish and you should be fattening up before you know it. Guest guest
I only lost 5 pounds. Which is not much considering I only managed to eat about 700 calories a day for 5 days after surgery. I TRIED, but it just took forever to drink anything. Seemed like I didnt have much room in my for anything bigger than a tiny slip. ( I was never wired shut. Just banded.) After a week I was eating things that are easiest to eat with a spoon like ice cream and yogurt and applesauce. I stopped losing, but I didnt gain anything back. I was never hungry but I tried to blend new things to eat anyway. Some people looked at me and said, " I can tell, you lost alot of weight. " Others said I looked exactly the same. Go figure. Its three weeks past surgery now and I think Im gaining it back now. I should tell you I was on the small side to begin with. And I always had a slow metabolism. Maybe this will give you something to go on. > how many of you guys lost weight due to limited diet, after having > the surgery?
Guest guest
I gained 6 lbs before surgery, lost 13 lbs the first week, and went back to my usual weight of 125 by week three. For a while I was gaining a pound a day, on a no-chew diet. So many, many people commented to me about, " Oh, what a great way to lose weight. " I told them all, " You can gain weight on a liquid diet. If you lose it, it comes right back. " Don't worry about weight loss. It's not permanent. Guest guest
I started at 129, dropped down to 119 3 or 4 days post op, and now I'm on soft foods only and I'm back up to 121. > how many of you guys lost weight due to limited diet, after having > the surgery?
