Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who answered my question about the weight loss. I haven't even gotten my braces on yet due to some difficulty with my dental insurance. I need a couple root canals before I get them, but this is so expensive even with my insurance. (like $600 for the rt canal and the crown) I have CompDent DMO and it SUCKS!! I am waiting for open enrollment on my job this November. Suggestions for a good dental plan please??? It is cheaper to have the teeth pulled, but I am afraid this will cause me even more problems down the road. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you conquer it? Alright, thanks!! Guest guest
AHHHHH!!! DON'T PULL THEM!!!! I had to have one tooth pulled several years ago when I couldn't afford to get it fixed. Now I find out that because it was a bottom tooth, the top tooth is falling (due to gravity and all). So if I don't put an implant in (lots more money, like $1000!) I am going to loss the top tooth, too Which really sucks.... ASeriously, ask your dentist for all the possiblities, if you pull- if you don't. Let him know that you are wanting braces and surgery. I know that some people have problems if they have had bridges or other dental work. I have one crown that my ortho couldn't put a band around. It's been two years and a surgery, and it still doesn't have one! I know this stuff is expensive.... and yeah, one day we'll be gone... but in the mean time, they are the only teeth you have! I love my teeth- and all 200 fillings and 3 crowns lol ( I'm exaggerating... I think--) ~Cathy Thank Ya's! Thanks to everyone who answered my question about the weight loss. Guest guest
- Who - Definately Don't have your teeth pulled. You are right it will cause more problems and more dollars down the road. The goal now in dental/ortho is to keep all your teeth that you possibly can. When i was younger I had several teeth pulled by a hack dentist because " my mouth was too small " . When I first started ortho (at age 39), my ortho was really angry when I explained why I was missing teeth. He said today no ethical dentist would ever " solve " my problem by pulling teeth. But what can you do, the past is over, the dentist is long dead and eventually everything will get fixed. On the dental plan, ask your HR at work to give you info on the different plan options now so you can study them and try to figure where you would get the best benefits. Its tedious, but worth the $.
