You know what works, what foods you should eat, what foods you should avoid. I would do a whole lot of work before I went back under the knife! I can eat a tremendous amount at times, and sometimes, I do so. But so far, I have been able to make the effort to rein myself back in. Speaking of which, I guess I'd better go finish that bottle of water (which I don't want, but know that I need, and recognize that it will fill me up enough so that I don't eat). Guest guest
I would definately get a second opinion before I would have a revision. Fay Bayuk 300/176 10/23/

Guest guest
I'm not going to be much help -- if I could qualify for a revision I would so be on that table faster than anyone. My first surgery is still in-tact but I'd rather have a horizontal transected pouch and be about / at least 5 to 8 feet more distal than I am... the types of things I've learned about the different " types " of RnY that different doctors do... I would just prefer my plumbing were different and if the " cause " ever comes up that I qualify for a revision -- I'll travel to get the surgeon I want to do it and I'd be there so fast heads would spin. I don't cherish the thought of another surgery but I would like to have a really good one that would work with me better over the long / life long / efforts put into this. I'd find out the " why " part of the ulcers you have and if their is a reason or a " maybe it was this " for a reason I'd change what I was doing and I surely would not accept the weight gain after so much effort to get it off and keep it off and regaining my health... >>>But I was scoped week before last and my surgeon said that my pouch is dramatically stretched and misshapen. He suggested a revision.<<< When I was scoped I really and truly hoped they would find something that would qualify me for a revision to the 'type' of surgery I want... I am one surgeons version of a RnY but it is a bad version IMO and I'd like to have a good version of RnY that can work for me and last a life time. Told ya' I wasn't much help ~smile~ but, if a revision is in order for you -- maybe you can do some research and find out about the different types of RnY's different surgeons offer and get a better -- life long -- type of RnY that will truly work for you for life. If we have a good pouch it shouldn't stretch out but if we are horizontal and part of our pouch is made up of the part of the stomach that does stretch easily then it will stretch out but it doesn't have to be that way. I hope you find some research and some in-depth information about what went wrong with the first surgery and exactly how you want it corrected so that it never happens again and you are provided with a tool that will last your life time. hugz, ~denise
