Guest guest
Well, this is the day. Three years ago today, Dr. Tanaka changed my life. I started this journey at 415 (that I know of. That's where the doctor's scale broke). On the day of surgery I was at 397. This morning I am at 245. I saw 200 for about 10 minutes two years ago, but re-learned some old bad habits. Eating when I was stressed. Neglecting my protein. Letting carbs creep back into my life. I'm struggling to get the weight back down, but it s a struggle I feel I can do now. I can move. I CAN exercise -- at 400#, I couldn't. Would I do it again? You bet. Knowing what I know now, I would probably have shopped around for a more distal procedure, but if this was the only surgery available, I would still do it. I'm sitting here in size 18W jeans. Pre-op, even Lane didn't have big enough jeans for my big butt. I'm getting ready to go to work, where I will do a lot of walking over the course of my day. And I can. What a great feeling. Newbies, listen when folks tell you to stop playing " chicken " with the carbs and get that protein in. " Old-timers, " thanks so much for all your advice and encouragement. Weather here is supposed to be nasty today, but it's still gonna look beautiful to me. ~~ Lyn G
