Guest guest
just finished day 3. had lower/genio on tuesday and i haven't been able to sleep or even rest confortably since. been doing pretty well with the liquids except the nasty cherry flavored penicillin i have to take. i know that this is probably common but i'm feeling frustrated and like I want to give up. what do i have to look forward to? when does the numbness subside? when is it typical to move to soft foods from just liquids? when will i feel normal again? thanks kristin
Guest guest
your first week will be bad as you are out of energy and still trying to heal. after the 2nd week, thing just rapidly get better by the day. but the better u get, the more you want to be completely healed bc you're 'so close.' We all know how it feels to want to be back to normal. but as you know, this is a major surgery and your body needs time to recover. just know that tomorrow will be a better day. youll have your ups and downs, but at least you're on the other side! hang in there! > just finished day 3. had lower/genio on tuesday and i haven't been > able to sleep or even rest confortably since. been doing pretty > well with the liquids except the nasty cherry flavored penicillin i > have to take. i know that this is probably common but i'm feeling > frustrated and like I want to give up. what do i have to look > forward to? when does the numbness subside? when is it typical to > move to soft foods from just liquids? when will i feel normal > again? thanks > kristin
Guest guest
Hey , Don't give up dude! You're already through the hard part (or so I've been told). I hear you on the penicillin. That stuff is horrible. Can I recommend taking it down with some other food, like ensure or something? That seems to help get rid of the taste quickly. I just suck down the pencillin, and in the same swallow, squeeze a little bit of food down. It's not perfect, but it masks the taste slightly, and gets rid of it pretty quickly. Also, as far as sleeping goes, have you taken your pain meds before you hit the sack? The codene puts me in my happy place, and seems to help with sleep. Well, I hope things move forward for you. Take care, and I hope you feel better soon. -AJ > just finished day 3. had lower/genio on tuesday and i haven't been > able to sleep or even rest confortably since. been doing pretty > well with the liquids except the nasty cherry flavored penicillin i > have to take. i know that this is probably common but i'm feeling > frustrated and like I want to give up. what do i have to look > forward to? when does the numbness subside? when is it typical to > move to soft foods from just liquids? when will i feel normal > again? thanks > kristin
